A mango lassi is a smoothie (or milkshake) drink made with yogurt and mango. Mango lassi is popular at Indian restaurants and very easy to make at home using basic ingredients like Trader Joe’s Mango Chunks.

Trader Joe’s frozen Mango Chunks make it easy and quick to put together this rich, thick, delicious smoothie. Using frozen fruit is my favorite way to make smoothies, resulting in thick and creamy smoothies without adding the “iciness” and dilution of ice cubes.

Flaxseed oil is optional if you want to add some healthy omega-3 essential fatty acids to your morning. Don’t worry when you read the word “fatty” – omega-3’s increase your body’s metabolic rate, actually helping to burn excess fats in your body! You’ll find flaxseed oil in the supplements section at Trader Joe’s, not with the oils.

If you want to add a little more Indian flavor with warm spices, sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon and cardamom on top.

Mango Lassi


  • 1 cup frozen Mango Chunks
  • 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp honey or agave nectar (or more to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp flaxseed oil, optional


  1. Add ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
